It grips your heart in its crushing claws, snatching your faith and robbing you of your joy. Worry and Anxiety are often Fears sidekicks. When riding the waves these ruthless emotions you become weak, tossed about by their unpredictable ups and downs. There have many times I let fear rule my life, allowing it to dictate my decisions, how I lived and the things I did. I look back at those moments and see how it boxed me into a corner of, anxiety, insecurity and despair.   Fear is costly to your relationships and health, however the real cost is to your spiritual growth. Each time is fear the motivation for your action's, you validate it as truth and perpetuate its residence into your life. As its grip on over your heart becomes stronger, so does its power over you. As fear grows, love recedes, for fear and love cannot co-exist together. They are mutually exclusive!   I encourage you to read the entire chapter of 1 John 4. It points out that we should be conscious of God’s love. It needs to be more than just a biblical fact for us - we need to experience it daily! In the absence of love, there is fear. A life filled with fear is a life that does not believe God's provision for ALL things for us. Many people never fulfill the call of God on their lives simply because every time they try to go forward, the devil uses fear to stop them. Satan uses fear to keep people from enjoying life and fulfilling God's call. Fear brings torment according to 1 John 4:18, and you surely can't rest in God's love and be tormented at the same time! For every fear you have there is a truth that repudiates it. Here are some truths for you to meditate on and claim for your life:   He has promised his care for your needs Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life. Matt 6:25-20   He has completely forgiven and redeemed you The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:8-12   He has made you into a new creation  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. I Cor 5:17-19   He has a plan for you  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jer 29:11-13   These are only a few of the many of God's truths you can go to when fear knocks at your door. Every promise of God is motivated by His love for you. There have been many times in my life that overwhelming fear would invade me and I claimed these very truths. Even over the last couple of weeks as I have been writing this post I have come against fears, both old and new. Satan is always going to bring fear against you at various times. It's one of his major weapons, not a cap gun, but a cannon. Facing your fear head on with the knowledge that you're loved, forgiven and accepted crumbles the very foundation Satan would like to build his house of fear on.   I encourage you to take an inventory in the fear department. Whether real or unfounded insecurities, what are you afraid of? Are there any areas in your life that are being stifled because of fear? Is fear your motivating factor? I've discovered that the love of God is the cure for the insecure. 1 Corinthians 13:13 says, And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. Perfect love shows us that only love will remain, and it tells us that in love, fear has no place. When you live with fear... YOU control. When you live with love... GOD is in control, you are confident in HIS perfect love for you. So will you accept perfect love? Will you let it transform your fears and weaknesses into strengths? It is my prayer and hope that will!   For a deeper revelation of God's love please join me in keeping a journal of the things He does in your life that you believe display His love. No matter how small they are, record them. When people give you things, record it. When you are shown favor in situations, record it. When God answers prayers and does things you have requested, record it. This process will help you become conscious of His love, and begin to heal.
